Should I cut my hair really short?

I am 14 years old and over 5' 5" I do gymnastics so I only weigh about 110lbs. So if I cut my hair I would have to do a half and half pony tail.

Anyway, I was thinking of cutting it a little bit above shoulder length. But I'm not sure if it would look good on me.

Any opinions?

It also depends on the texture of your hair. Like is it curly or straight...thick or thin. Those are things you have to think about. I have wavy fine hair so I have to flat iron my hair everyday or pull it back in a pony tail. If your in gymnastics then I would say don't cut your hair.....because it's harder to keep it in a pony tail with out it falling apart on the bottom and the sides. I made the huge mistake of having my (very very VERY) long hair cut extremley short. Imagine a talking coconut....

So, I suggest you have it cut slowly, taking it a bit shorter and shorter at a time (you could ask your hairdresser to do this in one sitting to save expenses, or have a good DIY go at it)

Take a look at Face Shapes in Google, and do some researh into styles in magazines. Other than than, do what you want!

Since you said your hair is wavy and not curly, I would go for the layers. Going short is a big step, especially if you are used to having long hair. Of course it always grows back but it's hard to endure (well at least for me it was..lol). You could ask your stylist for a longer angled bob, where the very back of the hair hits the top of the top of the shoulders and you could also do layers with that. If your hair is thick that kind of cut will help out a lot. Then, if you decide you want it shorter or you miss it longer, you aren't in that bad of a situation because you are ready to go both ways with that cut since it wasn't such a dramatic change. I told the stylist to just take a inch off and she kept messing up or something and ended up cutting it up to just below my shoulders!

Also she cut my bangs uneven I told her to cut them so I could part them to either side and so she cut them to one side that I never part it on.

With medium length hair, you can still look nice. You can pull your bangs back with small clip or bobby pin and where the sides down or wavy..

You can wash and braid your hair, let it air dry, and wear it wavy.

I dont think she cut them uneven, she probally just gave you swooped bangs by mistake. But everyone has their own side they wear their hair on, so it is still her fault in the end run..

You can either pull them back or just adjust to your new look by doing something different with the rest of your hair. Your hair will grow back, dont worry.. Just dont go to that stylist again and when you go next time, tell the person exactly what you want and exactly what the last person did so she knows what you dont like!! Use your hands and show her, sometimes words dont help by themselves.

the person who did you hair was either very inexperienced or very dumb. go to a different salon and tell them the dilemma and they will be sure to fix the bangs. There isn't much to do with the lenght. Perhaps bring in a picture of exactly how you want it. f u really want your lenght back try extension. The person won't necessarily make your hair even shorter, but they will adjust it to your personal needs and style.

I would like something low-maitenence and I want to avoid straghenting it every day. All I've really done with my current hair is put it in a ponytail, and I like it that way. (I was having an exceptionally good hair day when the first photo was taken).

Another one would be to ask her if you can keep it longer and get a weekly roller set at a salon along with her or your gran. at least then your hair will be longer but ikept in a granny sort of style instead.

I keep my cut real short, like a number 0 - 1 on the clipper. I usually have my hair cut every week. If I wait too long, like 1 /12-2 weeks my scalp gets itchy. Are you washing your hair at least every other day and not with bar soap, but a good shampoo? Daily won't hurt. You should condition as well, Even though hair is short, it's still hair and require moisture, proteins etc, found in good shampoos not just soap.

Never use soap on hair and I don't think much of the combo body wash/shampoo products either.

If you are already doing this, then try Head and Shoulders for Dry Scalp.

If that fails try, Scalpicin.

If that fails see a dermatologist.

I really depends on how you plan on installing the extensions.

The shortest your hair can be to glue (use liquid GOLD bond) in extensions is about 1/2-1" but you have to be very careful not to have the weft show...these can last from a few hours to up to a week. With Lquid Gold you can also do indivdual bonding which is meant for hair that's at least 4" long. To remove use the Liqud Gold bond remover...this is the one of the easiest ways to do extensions.

For clip-ins your hair should be be from 3-5" this is the simplest installation/removal, part hair and clip in...un clip and slide out.. You cannot swim or wash your hair with these in.

For microlinks/linkies, you hair should be at least 3" for the wefted kind and at lest 5" for the induvidual kind. You thread your hair through the linkie and then clamp with pliers...to remove, you open the link with and opening tool and slid of your hair. These last up to 6 months with a touch up about every 2 months depending on how fast your hair grows.

For fusion/keratin bond, your hair has to be at least 5" long. You're basically fusing extension hair to your hair using a hot adhesive. It takes at least 3 hours to do a whole head but it can last from 3-6 months and usually requires acetone to break down the bond.

There's also ways of sewing in extensions which ususally requires the natural hair to be cornrowed as the base and the a net is sewn over that and the wefted hair is sewn over that. Needs to be touched up as hair grows.

Style the back by seperating small sections of the hair and curling it under with the iron. I woluld then get some sort of pretty hair orniment, such as a few glitter clips, take a few strands of hair and pull them away from your face with them. Curl the front either with a few spirals or bob it under.

I used to have short hair and went through similar problems.

Tip: Make sure that you use a wide toothed comb after dousing your hair with hairspray in the back. It seperates the curls, making it look like it took forever to curl the tiny little sections.

I did it all the way around to the middle so I could put it all in to a pony tail.... instead of a pony tail you could (using the small curling iron) curl them,. If you cant do twistys yourself go to different hair places and ask all the hairstylists (the one girl who did mine charged 20$.) If you cant find one that will give you a good price. I'm sorry you are so unhappy with your hair cut. Extensions can be creatively used to improve your look. Find an experience salon because they are hardest to do in front.

Another solution you might try is to sweep your layers back away from your face. You could put them in a pony tail holder to keep them back. There are also lots of beautiful clips in the grocery stores and beauty supply stores that could be used to hold your bangs back out of your face until they get longer.

You will be told there are ways to get your hair to grow back faster using pills or nutrition. You won't. Nutrition helps those who are very ill, but even then the studies are not confirming results in hair growth. Hair grows 1/2" a month, with a barely noticeable slowing in February and increase in August.
